So it's time.... I finally decided to it... LASIK, that is. I went to the eye doc the other day to get a years supply of contact lenses ($150 at least) - but the doc said, "Oh, you have to get an eye exam... it's due, it's every year by the way". And I went... woah nelly.... contacts and eye exam?!... kaching!!... and it's every year PLUS updating my lenses on my glasses if my prescription does change... ka-ka-kaching!!!! I said... screw it... I'd rather pay for LASIK which in turn will pay for itself in a couple of years vs a lifetime of eye exams, contacts and glasses... not to metion being a slave to that dependency. Sooooooo... it's tomorrow at 7.30 am, I'll be out in 15 minutes... will have blurry vision for a day or two?... guess I'll be listening to lots and lots of muzak - whip my iTunes, cranck up the volume.... "cuz u gots to have the bump"!!!
I just can't wait to get up in the morning and SEE!!!! To get up, whip on my sneaks and run... dive in pool... not worry about rain when wearing glasses... take a nap and not worry about contacts....sigh...it's endless... Wish me luck... CYA (LOL)

Good Luck! We'll be thinking about you!
Some words from a friend who had the LASIK sugery:
I highly recommend it. However, if you still want a good night vision forget about the surgery....Hopefully the doctor have warned you enough.
Anyways, after years putting up with contact lenses'payments and the discomfort of wearing them all day long, I'm free!! The surgery is pretty smooth. After I got out of it(pretty fast and it does not hurt), I saw clouds for only 1 day. When I woke up the next day I cried when I opened my eyes and I saw the alarm clock and myself at the mirror with bare eyes!
Good luck!! It will change your life...haha!

I heard about the night vision problems = halos around lights and "ghosts". The doc did speak to about it.... the cool thing is - it depends on the laer they use. Like any other piece of technology, these laser get better. I had a customized treatment, with maps MY specific eye - with this new laser and this mapping procedure, night visions problems are eliminated up to a 100%. Thanks for for the heads up.....
I am out of surgery.... all I had to do was look into the "green" light.... was out in 10 minutes. My eyes do sting a little now and my sight is a little blurry or cloudy to put it in better terms... but other than that i can see better already.... I can't wait to cry in the morning for joy!!!!!!!!
The blog is fantastic! Must be the new eyesight...Glad it went well.
I am learning the life of solitude and grooving on it for now. The house seems bigger my one kitty seems nicer. You know her the one you kicked and squirted and threw things at when we resided at Autumn Park. I miss our evenings in pjs running up and down the stairs to visit.
Yep this is your forgotton or forsaken friend, Evelyn.
Hoping Elizabeth will be the next Idol. If not hope she is as lucky as William Hung was with her loss...
Let me know when you have a free evening and we'll get together for a drink or 2 and maybe a trip to Hemmingways or the Next Door Tavern Downtown.
Take Care,
Evelyn
